Description
Castle Malting® Château Chocolat is a Belgian chocolate malt roasted and torrefied at 220°C and rapidly cooled once the target colour is achieved. This deeply roasted malt develops a rich brown hue, which gives it its 'Chocolat' name. Château Chocolat is used to add colour to beer while contributing a nutty, toasted flavour. It shares many qualities with Black Malt but offers a milder bitterness and a slightly lighter colour, due to its shorter roasting time and lower final temperatures.
Use: Brown, strong, darker and black beers, such as porters, stouts and brown ales.
Rate: Up to 7%.
