Description
Topaz™ is an Australian flavour hop bred by HPA. Initially selected as an alpha variety for extract production, brewers soon discovered its exceptional potential as a late addition hop. When used in generous whirlpool or dry-hop doses, Topaz™ reveals vibrant lychee and tropical fruit flavours that work really nicely in session beer styles.
In beer, Topaz™ brings a sunny blend of sweet-sour lychee and earthy tropical fruit character. Whole cone sensory analysis highlights a complex fruit spectrum, including blackberry, gooseberry, blueberry, blackcurrant, and passionfruit, all complemented by resinous grapefruit notes.
A low hot-side dosage of Topaz™ imparts a clean, earthy bitterness, while higher dry-hop rates unlock its more exotic lychee and delicate tropical fruit aromas, making Topaz™ a standout choice for adding bright, fruity layers to modern, easy-drinking beers.
